A few months ago I tried to write some custom rewrites rules for a project I was working on to make the URL’s reflect the relationship between post types. I spent a few days on it and failed miserably. I like to think I’m a pretty good developer, but the Rewrites API is were I met my match. After that experience I found myself saying “there really aught to be a visual editor for WordPress permalinks.” It was a rhetorical rant really. Well until I showed it to our lead developer David Cramer. Now it’s a thing and it’s beautiful. When Technology Makes Something Difficult Simple, That’s Beautiful This is how I create WordPress permalink structures: Want to add one for another post, no problem: And Now You Can Too We’ve been working on this one for awhile–well David did the heavy lifting. Yoren Chang and Michael Beil have of their time generously to beta test the plugin, and now you can have it too. Learn More We have a screencast, and a tutorial on how to use the plugin. If you have any questions feel free to contact me through our contact form or by emailing me(Josh@CalderaWP.com), DMing me in WordPress Slack (Shelob9) or on Twitter (@CalderaWP).
