Each year, Inc. ranks the fastest-growing private companies in America. And you know what? Last month The 2015 Inc. 5,000 was published! Our curiosity was driven to ask ourselves: What percentage out of these 5,000 fast-growing companies use WordPress? You may read more than one report describing the increasing popularity of WordPress vs other CMS. For example, W3Techs analyses the technologies used by the top 10 million websites (according to popularity rankings provided by Alexa, from mid-july): WordPress is used by 60.3% of all the websites that use a Content Management System. This is 24.2% of all websites, and a year ago, the WordPress usage was 22.6% of all websites. However, does WordPress have the same market share in the companies from the Inc. 5000 list? That is, are 1,200 (out of 5,000) using WordPress? Well, after analyzing all the data we’ve discovered that the numbers are quite different! Taking a look at the data of 2015, more than 43% of the fastest-growing companies’ websites from the 2015 Inc. 5,000 are in WordPress.
