Hi everyone, I am a forty-two years old self-taught developer, and this is my story. A couple of weeks ago I came by the tweet below, and it made me think about my career, and those thoughts brought me back to where it all began for me: I started my career as a software developer at precisely 10am, on Monday October 6th, 1997, somewhere in the city of Olivos, just north of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The future of the web were portals like Excite.com. AltaVista was my preferred search engine.
