Source The core WordPress developers list in based on the data displayed in the credits screen in the WordPress dashboard. History The credits screen was introduced in WordPress 3.2 to give special credit to core developers leading and releasing each WordPress version. Insights Over the years we see a constant increase in core WordPress developers. WordPress 3.2 – WordPress 3.7 was lead by ~20 core developers. Since then the total amount of core WordPress developers rose to 30-45. This is a significant leap, doubling the project leaders and distributing the responsibility among more people.
